Jumpstart - www.jumpstart.com - for ages 3-12 focuses on math, reading, and critical thinking; free limited use.

The World of Miamiopia - www.miamiopia.com - for ages 5-12 focuses on astronomy, math, geology, history, biology, reading, and more; free.

Quest Atlantis - www.questatlantis.org - for ages 9-16 focuses on environmental awareness and social responsibility; free.

Assistive Technology Apps

TaptoTalk - Uses symbols to help students form sentences. Great for students with verbal limitations or those who cannot speak at all. Free.

Dragon Dictation - Speech-to-text app that allows students who struggle with gross and/or fine motor skills to communicate effectively in text without having to write or type.

iTalk Lite - Voice recorder app to practice reading aloud into an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Free.

Proloquo2Go - gives non speaking students a voice. Customizable and allows parents to create a unique matrix or vocabulary set, contains thousands of words, phrases, and symbols from the Symbolstix library and lets users swap in photographs in place of symbols. Cost.

Snapp4kids.com - features a list of resources of special needs apps for kids.

Community Advocates for Family and Youth, www.communityadvocates.info , offers human services focused on educating families and youth, empowering communities to action and embracing victims of crime. They have several teen programs and work with at-risk youth through an alternative to suspension program and this year we have labeled Group-LIFE.

El Shaddi Care Center, www.elshaddi.org, was established to educate and support the Prince George's community by providing a menu of direct services, forums, and programs which promote healthy sexuality and lifestyle.

TeensExpress, www.teensexpress.org, teaches and develops teens into leaders trained to teach & change lives through the Arts.

The Training Source, www.thetrainingsource.org, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, community - based organization whose mission is to provide superior training on state-of-the-art equipment and methodologies to meet individual and workplace development needs.
